As a performer in the program, you will:
— join a residency program for music practitioners, theorists, and researchers
— present your performance practice and performance-based research or theory in weekly online sessions, receiving feedback from peers
— engage in dialogue with fellow participants, gain new perspectives on practice and performance, and broaden your understanding of the field
— form an ensemble with fellow participants and develop your work through practice, experimentation, dialogue, and analysis during the in-person gathering at Bled Contemporary Music Week
— attend lectures, symposia, and concerts at the festival while building an international network of colleagues
Possible dispositions for performers include themes such as:
— developing an independent and sustainable performance practice
— establishing practice routines and systems
— building performance and research portfolios
— developing theoretical and analytical approaches to one’s performance work
— studying broader artistic contexts
— forming and leading ensembles
— planning long-term artistic development
— fostering imagination, creativity, and innovation
Examples of opportunities for performers:
— developing new compositions collaboratively with composers and performers during the in-person gathering
— sharing your practice with fellow participants and receiving feedback
— proposing an analysis of a particular performance and discussing it with colleagues
— performing compositions during the in-person gathering at Bled Contemporary Music Week
— learning from the performance practices of other participants
