FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is it possible to participate in Portfolio Dialogues if I am not a participant in the One-Year Online Residency?
Yes. Applications to Portfolio Dialogues are open to everyone and upon confirmation, the programme is free to participate in.
I am not sure which group of the One-Year Online Residencies programme I wish to join. Is it possible to receive advice?
Yes. Please contact us at info@abeceda.io, and we will be happy to answer your questions or arrange a meeting with a coordinator who can advise you on which group best suits your artistic goals.
Can I join the online residency for less than a year?
The programme is conceived as a continuous, one-year residency with weekly meetings. Therefore, continuous, active, and regular engagement is regarded as the basis for successful participation. That being said, we do our best to accommodate individual situations and requests. Upon agreement, we would be happy to arrange a trial period to allow you to experience the programme before making a long-term commitment.
Is it possible to join the online residency mid-year?
Yes. New applicants may join at the beginning of each month, until programme capacity is reached.
I would like to apply to an upcoming Portfolio Dialogue, but I am not sure what participation entails. What can I expect?
Portfolio Dialogues are open to applicants of all levels and backgrounds. The main objective is to provide musicians in development with an opportunity to establish communication and learn from distinguished practitioners. You can expect to listen to the guest's presentation of a selection from their portfolio and take part in a moderated discussion afterwards. During the discussion, you may offer your readings of the presented portfolio, ask questions, or propose topics for further discussion. If you prefer to listen only, you can indicate this in your application.
